This article is not a religious write up of some sort; just as Jesus is not and is not a religious leader of any sort. This article is a piece that reveals an aspect of Jesus, so that you may understand Who He is to anyone who believes in Him.

Jesus Christ was a descendant of King David according to the historical account; however, beyond historical account; we undersatnd that He was the One prophesied throughout the Bible to come in due season to reconcile the children of men and God. 

Remember, King David was inspired to write that, "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s;
But the earth He has given to the children of men." (Psalm 115:16); implying that God decided to handover the affairs of the events and outcomes of the earth to the children of men (you and I). However, due to the invasion of the earth by some fallen angels of God; the authority (earlier given to man); was hijacked by the leading fallen angel called satan!

The point is, God had given the power and the will (authority) over the earth to the children of men; hence, God requires the permission (or invitation) of the children of men before He could do anything on earth.

Going back to the subject of this discussion; we must realize that the power of will over the affairs of the children of men, has been given to each individual - each person has been so assigned the responsibility of steering the course of events of each persons life; hence, until a man or woman allows another man or woman into his or her life, every man is entitlted to his or her own privacy of priority, focus and interest. In short, every man's destiny then becomes a victim or beneficiairy of man's will or choices.

Therefore, when Jesus asks the obvious questions; He is not trying to tease any man or woman; neither is He joking over any man's situation. Rather, He uses the opportunity to seek for permission for divine intervention. You see, God does not break His own rules; when He hands over - He hands over!

Let us see a portion of the Bible for our guidance on this matter:

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.  Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.  In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.  For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

John 5:1-6

The question that we might be considering strong in our heart is, "Why Did Jesus Ask Such An Obvious Question?". I believe that Jesus was not an idle talker; neither was He idle or unemployed to ask questions whose answers are obvious. The question wasn't  really about the man's desire to be made well; but a permission for intervention. I know you also wish God could help you to enjoy your marriage; and even give you a good job; but the matter is, "How willing are you to recieve God's intervention in your life?", "Can God come into your life, and you will not be angry or complaining to God for His presence in your life?"; "Should God require you to stay from those sinful habits of yours to allow Him free access into your life, marriage, and business; would you yeild?"

All those questions must be answered by you for you to experience divine intervention in your affairs for a glorious experience on the earth. Remember, it was God who made us, and we did not make ourselves; hence, He is the best Person that can fix your matter right now! If you therefore want Him to come over, invite Him formally right there into your life - He will come faster than you might have imagined or guessed.
